As part of her education, she actively participated in the international moot court competition called Sports Law Arbitration Moot (SLAM) and was awarded the 'Best Advocate' prize by the Ghent Bar Association in the aftermath of this competition.

Lara has a special interest in the areas of corporate law, company law, and contract law.

Since October 1, 2023, she has been a member of the West Flanders Bar Association.
